CHAPTER FIFTEEN

James

James wrapped a protective arm around Amy's shoulders as along with Grayson, Sophie, Matthew and Sonia they strode through the corridor to the high rollers room. They were flanked on either side by members of Grayson's security team including the two that James had requested to allow Matthew to relax more as a guest than an employee. He didn't expect him to fully switch off, but he hoped that Matthew would at least spend a little time enjoying himself with Sonia. If he didn't, Grayson and James had already agreed with Sonia they’d chain him up at the club and let her do whatever she wanted to him.

The manager opened a barrier for them and let them all in. James looked at Amy and saw her eyes open wide.

"One thousand minimum."

"It’s expected."

"I’d rather give the money to charity."

"I’ll give the same amount as I lose to charity for you when we get back to England."

"The same as both you and Matthew lose."

"Will I get to put myself in your cute little arse tonight if I do?"

"Maybe."

"Amy."

"Alright." She smiled up at him from under her long lashes.

James guided her to sit with Sonia and Sophie on comfortable chairs near a table set up for the men to play blackjack.

"How much are we cashing in?"

"Shall we start with fifty thousand dollars?" Grayson handed over his card to the dealer, James nodded, and Matthew reluctantly did the same.

"Matthew, you’re here as a guest. You’ve already briefed Grayson's team. Relax. You’ve earned this break."

"Yes, boss."

"No more boss until we’re on the plane home either. It is, James."

"Yes, bo...James."

The dealer began to hand the cards out. Amy came over and pressed a kiss to his cheek when he won. As it approached midnight, James was twenty thousand dollars down. Much to everyone's delight, though, Matthew was up twenty-five thousand. James threw his cards in.

"You giving up already?" Matthew sniggered, and Grayson joined in the heckling.

"I think my beautiful girl needs my attention." Amy lifted her head up from where it rested against the side of the sofa and smiled at him.

"Pussy whipped." Grayson replied.

"Like you aren't, Gray." Sophie came up behind her husband and wrapped her arms around his neck. He spun in his seat and gripped her chin. "Baby. You’re going to get punished for that remark."

"I look forward to it, Master."

James took his card back from the dealer and stood up,

"Thank you for the game gentlemen." He shook the hand of the dealer and passed him a couple of thousand dollar chips in gratuity. Amy came to his side, and he wrapped his arm around her, as she snuggled into his broad chest. His white cotton shirt was soft for her delicate skin.

"Shall we get you to bed?"

"I’m actually a bit hungry. Can we get something to eat first, please?"

"Of course. Night everyone."

Sophie slid into James' seat at the table as they left with two of the bodyguards and Grayson tossed her a few chips.

"I can't believe you lost that much money."

"I think your charity of choice will like it, though.
